OUR COMMITMENT TO SERVICE - CAN YOU SPEAK TO YOUR VET AFTER 6PM?

We have received mention in The Times (Feb 17) recognising our 24 hour availability for service along the South Coast region. We are proud of our after hour service and understand the need to have a vet available should an issue occur at night or on weekend

VACCINATION UPDATE

There has been some recent media coverage regarding the correct use of vaccines for dogs and cats. We would like to reassure all of our clients that we have always used the most modern vaccines and used appropriate protocols. Over 2 years ago now the governing bodies recommended the use of triennial (3 yearly) vaccination regimes for core diseases (Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvovirus in dogs). As such we have been following those recommendations. Non-core diseases such as Canine Cough and Cat Flu still require annual vaccination, and heartworm prevention remains as an annual or monthly treatment. In addition the importance of annual check-ups can not be over-emphasised as a lot of problems are picked up in this way that can then be treated early.

DIGITAL DENTAL XRAY MACHINE

We have recently purchased a top quality digital dental xray unit. This enables us to take high quality images of dog and cat teeth which is important in the treatment of many dental diseases.

HOSPITAL ACCREDITATION FOR GOOLWA

After years of planning and hard work, in 2009 our Riverport Veterinary Hospital (previously clinic) became accredited as a Veterinary Hospital by the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia.

Out of approximately 200 veterinary clinics in South Australia, only 21 have achieved this accreditation, so what does it mean for you?......

Being a Veterinary Hospital means that we offer a higher level of service than that of a normal veterinary practice. Accreditation indicates that we have demonstrated a commitment to provide a greater level and range of service to the public and their pets. Hospital Accreditation is an acknowledgement of our commitment to a high standard of professional service.
