It is never too early to visit the vet. You want to make sure your new kitten is happy and healthy, and you will need to get your kitten started on a health care program.

Your kitten is going to require regular visits to the veterinarian so you want to establish good habits from the start. Consider making your kitten's first appointment when the clinic not too busy to help ease the anxiety your kitten may feel in a different environment. ALWAYS take your kitten to the veterinarian in a safe carrier for his safety.

Your veterinarian will discuss vaccinations and health care with you and will help you get started on the right track when it comes to preventative health care for your pet. Your kitten will be weighed and given a health check to examine his coat, ears, eyes, heart, lungs, teeth and gums.

Try to keep your kitten calm while you are at the veterinarian by praising him and offering affection. You want your kitten to remember the veterinary clinic as a pleasant place to be.

Take with you any health records or documentation you have for your kitten. This will give your vet an idea of your kitten's previous care will help establish an appropriate health care plan.

You want to make sure that your kitten is happy and healthy and this means regular visits to the veterinarian. If you take the time to make your kitten's first visit to the vet a calm one, you'll be on the right track to making sure future trips are as stress-free as possible.
