  • Dr Alan Mills
    Veterinarian - Principal Partner

    Alan was raised on a mixed farm in the Mid North of S.A. and has always been interested in the variety a rural mixed practice offers.  After completing his studies at Murdoch University, Perth, his first position was at the Strathalbyn Vet Clinic in January 1991.  In 1993 he left for an extended working holiday based in England.  Re-joining the practice in 1995 and becoming a partner in 1999 has meant that Alan and his family are well settled in the area.  His particular interests include cattle, horses and alpacas as well as small animal surgery and oncology.  If you are ever in need of a good yarn Alan is your man!

    Alan's Pets has two dogs, Tia and Darcy and two cats, Pearl and Edward.

  • Dr Rhys Hayward
    Veterinarian - Principal Partner

    Rhys went to School in Adelaide before going across to Melbourne to study Veterinary Science, graduating in 2001. Rhys’ main interests include small animal surgery and emergency medicine.  He was admitted to the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons in the field of Small Animal Surgery in 2010.  He is also a chartered member of the Australian Veterinary Association. Rhys loves a challenging surgical case!

    In his spare time Rhys enjoys cycling, golf and surfing. He enjoys following the Aussie cricket team and the Adelaide Crows.

    Rhys's has a Whippador (Whippet x Labrador) called Guinness and a very cheeky cat named Rosie.

  • Dr Katrina Walker

    Katrina was born and bred in Melbourne and graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2001. She spent 2 years in mixed practice in North-East Victoria dealing mostly with small animals and dairy cattle. This was followed by 12 months in Sydney working for a large pharmaceutical company as a Veterinary Technical Advisor. Katrina’s main interests include small animal internal medicine and ultrasonography.

    Katrina loves sport and tries to keep fit to keep up with her two young daughters. She enjoys camping and travelling with the family. She loves cooking and is always bringing in delicious food for the staff to taste test – we never complain!

    Katrina has a dog called Guinness and a cat named Rosie.

  • Dr Michael (Mick) Quinton

    Mick joined the Vets First team in 2015. He has always had a passion for animals, from volunteering with numerous wildlife organisations in SA to patrolling the streets of Rajasthan in India and treating sick and injured animals. He has also worked as a Jackeroo in outback SA and spent time in London, UK working for the Government of South Australia. Mick is loving life on the South Coast with his wife, daughter and son where he can combine his love for surfing, fishing and veterinary medicine.

    Mick has 1 dog called Noah, 1 three-legged rescue cat called Quad and three chickens: Snail, Tickles and Uppies (named by his daughter).

  • Tina Blom

    Tina was born in Darwin and grew up in Alice Springs, where she developed her love for animals with her childhood Rottweiler by her side. After graduating high school Tina travelled to Adelaide where she stated her studies. While at Uni Tina was able to travel to New Zealand, South Africa and India, where she was able to combine her love for travel and different cultures with the thrill of developing and using her skills in veterinary medicine.

    Now her sights are set on Goolwa and Victor Harbour, where she has developed a healthy love of the beach, camping and hiking with her fiancé and their staghound x, Ted.
